My family and I lost our dearest, sweetest companion on September 27, 2015 and we are heartbroken. Tabasco was truly a once-in-a-lifetime dog, and I will miss his enthusiasm, devotion, and wet, sloppy kisses. I will miss working and competing with him, and the way he always greeted me with a toy in his mouth. I will miss his warm presence on my feet in bed every night, the way he would nudge my arm for extra attention, and his constant "talking" or "singing" whenever he wanted anything.
Tabasco had over 125 offspring with 20 mates, and I am grateful that his sweet disposition, great looks and excellent hunting ability will continue on through them and their offspring.
Tabasco exemplifies all the qualities that make the Vizlsa such a special breed. Ruggedly handsome and intelligent, Tabasco is also devoted, sweet-natured, and a fabulous personal gun dog. With titles in conformation, obedience, and the field, as well as an AKC Canine Good Citizen Award and a Versatility Certificate from the Vizsla Club of America, Tabasco is truly a Versatile Vizlsa. Tabasco’s offspring have inherited his beautiful looks, sweet temperament, and strong hunting instincts. Like their extraordinary father, who excels in conformation, obedience and the field, these puppies also embody the ideals of the Versatile Vizsla. For more information about some of Tabasco puppies, see PUPPIES.

TABASCO'S SHOW CAREER

Tabasco was shown as a Special for about a year and half by Susie and Jorge Olivera and won numerous Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex Awards, some over nationally top-ranked Vizslas.
At the Rio Salado Vizsla Club Vizsla Specialty on June 8, 2007, Tabasco won a Judge's Award of Merit from the Hunting Dog Class, handled by Susie Olivera. On November 3, 2007, Tabasco won Best of Opposite Sex at the RSVC Vizsla Specialty, handled by Ginny Maese.

TABASCO'S HUNTING TITLES

Tabasco has always been very birdy and loves to hunt. In between dog shows, Tabasco was owner-trained in the field with help from the Rio Salado Vizsla Club and Don Humes. Tabasco earned his Junior Hunter title in four straight passes, with his first two passes occurring on April 16-17, 2005 when he was just six months old. He completed his JH title at 10 months of age.
Tabasco earned his Senior Hunter title the following year just after his second birthday with passes at the Valley of the Sun Weimaraner Club's hunt test on November 11th and 12th, 2006, at the Desert German Shorthaired Pointer Club on December 9, 2006 and at the English Setter Club of Phoenix on December 10, 2006.
Tabasco was forced to take a break from hunt training when he was diagnosed with Valley Fever in January 2007 (see Valley Fever). Thanks to Dr. Weaver and Dr. Ferrara at the Squaw Peak Animal Hospital, Tabasco made a full recovery and returned to hunt training in the spring of 2007.
Tabasco continued to train for his Master Hunter title, and had three MH passes in 2007. Tabasco completed his Master Hunter title, owner handled, at the Rio Salado Vizsla Club's hunt test on August 16, 2008 at the age of 3 1/2 years old. Special thanks to Don Humes for training advice and encouragement.

TABASCO'S OBEDIENCE TITLES
In between dog shows and hunt tests, Tabasco also trains for Obedience trials with the Phoenix Field and Obedience Club. Along the way, he earned his Canine Good Citizen award from the AKC on June 8, 2007 at the RSVC Specialty in Flagstaff, AZ.
Tabasco also earned his Vizsla Club of America Versatility Title (VC) by passing nine separate tests in Conformation, Obedience, and Field.
Tabasco earned his AKC Companion Dog (CD) title in one week, qualifying in four consecutive Obedience trials over two weekends, including a third place finish in the Novice B class a the Superstition Kennel Club Dog Show on March 3, 2008. Tabasco's obedience scores also placed him fourth, nationally, among Vizslas who completed their CD titles in 2008.
